As the guest of a wedding, following the dress code is expected. I recently went to a black tie affair in Santa Ynez, CA for a close friends wedding. This secluded location was the perfect spot to go all out. It felt like a dream. The color of my dress really made me feel

GETTING READY/PREP-

Here’s my go to checklist of things I needed to do before any event where I may be photographed:

Self Tan - I used Loving Tan
Facial/Body Hair Removal - My favorite at home waxing strips
Try on dress or outfit the night before. If you are getting ready on site, PACK A BAG!
Manicure/Pedicure - I went to Panic Room Nails for my set.
Underwear/Shapewear - Don’t forget this! It includes: adhesive bras, petals, corsets, shorts, etc.
Bring a iPhone charger/portable charger. In my experience, these kinds of days are full of documenting so make sure your phone is fully charged at all times.
Don’t forget to eat and hydrate! During these busy times, at least for me, I always skip meals without knowing.

When it comes to hair and makeup, I have had my fair share of experience with going to the salon and getting it done. But every time I come home, I always end up fixing it myself because I am never happy with the way it turns out.

For this particular dress, I felt that my hair and makeup needed to be very natural yet classic, and undone but put together. Kendall Jenner’s CFDA Awards look was my inspo.

THE DRESS

Most people have been wondering where I got my dress from. It really was love at first sight. I was looking all over for an emerald green dress and even made the mistake of purchasing one off of Instagram (HUGE MISTAKE!) and ended up finding mine at Bloomingdales for around the same price *on sale*. Bloomingdales has sales going on all the time!
